Update (1:30 p.m.) – Koechner is scheduled to be arraigned in a Chariton County courtroom on Apr. 19 at 10 a.m.

A woman who allegedly staged a four-day disappearance with her four-year-old daughter has been charged with a misdemeanor offense.  Rachel Koechner, 28, of Rothville, was charged Tuesday with making a false report, according to online court records.  Authorities believe Koechner spent the time smoking synthetic drugs with her ex-husband, Devon Sandner, 37, and their child Zoee, at a Blue Springs motel.  Koechner was arrested Monday after investigators learned she faked her and her daughter’s abduction.  Additional charges are expected to be filed.

Koechner was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, March 26, but that hearing was cancelled after Chariton County Judge Andrea Vandeloecht recused herself.  Judge Tracey Mason-White was assigned to the case on Wednesday.
