Charges Filed in Infant Death

A Clark resident appeared in a Randolph County court room on Tuesday.  Joseph Laswell, 23, has been charged with abuse or neglect of a child and 2nd degree domestic assault following the death of 18-month-old Jayden Bradds on Saturday. Laswell reportedly told authorities he pushed the child down causing him to strike his head on the floor, then spanked him and purposely dropped a cellphone on his head.  The infant was later pronounced dead at Moberly Regional Medical Center.  Laswell will appear for a hearing on November 19th at 1:30 p.m..  He is being held on a $250,000 bond.
