Charges Pending in Saline Co. Shooting

Update (2:15 p.m.) – According to online court records, Lathrop was charged Thursday with felony assault, armed criminal action, and discharging a firearm at a person.  His bond was set at $10,000.

A Malta Bend resident is facing charges of assault, armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a weapon.  Nicholas Lathrop, 23, was arrested by Highway Patrol troopers Wednesday afternoon following a shooting at a home in Saline County.  Lathrop allegedly threatened to kill his father after the two got into an argument over a truck.  According to the probable cause statement, Lathrop shot at his father as he was trying to leave the home.  A bond amount has not been set.
