CHARITON COUNTY, Mo. — It’s not clear if two people hurt in a crash north of Keytesville just after midnight Sunday were wearing seat belts.

That’s according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, which indicates that the accident occurred at about 12:05 a.m. Sunday on State Highway 5, about four miles north of Keytesville.

A vehicle operated by 34-year-old Brookfield resident Travis E. Tillman was parked in the roadway when a second vehicle, driven by Alexis N. Ashbaker, 34, of Sturgeon struck Tillman’s pick-up truck in its rear.

Ashbaker walked away uninjured, however Tillman and a passenger, 19-year-old Boonville resident Keyera K. Adams, suffered moderate injuries.

Adams was taken by air ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia while Tillman was transported to Moberly Regional Medical Center to be treated.
