Child molestation charges filed against Marceline man in Linn County

LINN COUNTY, Mo. — A Marceline man is facing felony charges, including child molestation, after his victim came forward about the alleged abuse in mid-September.

According to a probable cause statement filed in a Linn County courtroom, the 15-year-old victim’s mother told investigators that Timothy Scott Coyle, 22 had sexually assaulted her daughter on multiple occasions.

The victim’s mother said she confronted Coyle about the alleged abuse, and Coyle threatened to kill the family and family’s pets, according to the probable cause statement.

Coyle is now charged with felony statutory sodomy in the second degree, felony fourth degree child molestation with a child under the age of 17 and tampering with a witness in a felony prosecution.

Coyle is set to be arraigned in a Linn County courtrooms Thursday at 9:30 a.m.
