MOBERLY, Mo. — A resident of Moberly is accused of child molestation following an incident Sunday.

Blake Varner, Moberly Police Department

Moberly Police were called to a residence on Kehoe Avenue on Sunday, February 11, after receiving reports that a six-year-old girl had been sexually abused.

The young victim told her mother that her mother’s boyfriend, Blake Andrew Varner, 19, had touched her on her privates.

Further investigation by law enforcement officials resulted in Varner being taken into custody. Varner is now charged with two felony counts each of first degree child molestation and statutory sodomy or attempted statutory sodomy – deviate sexual intercourse with a person less than 12 years of age.

Varner is currently held at the Randolph County Justice Center. A judge in a Randolph County court has set bond at $75,000, cash only. Further court dates have not yet been set.
