Chillicothe Approves Sidewalk Agreement

The Chillicothe City Council approved an agreement with the Missouri Department of Transportation regarding sidewalks.  City Administrator Ike Holland said the ordinance determines who is responsible for the maintenance.  Click to hear Holland:

Council was ensured Monday night by Street Superintendent Barry Arthur that the sidewalks would be a safe distance from high traffic areas.  In other news, council gave the green light to a rehabilitation project at the municipal airport.  Holland said it’s been a decade or more since some heavy maintenance was completed on the airport’s runways.  Click to hear Holland:

The Missouri Department of Transportation is offering an approximately $15,000 grant for the rehab project.  The estimated cost to the city is about $820 in matching funds.
