A few changes have recently been made at the facility, and more minor changes are planned. “One of the new things they were going to have is we took down a billboard-like sign where we used to post the tournaments and such,” said Holland. “And with the new hospital and everything on that corner now, we will have an electronic sign for the golf course that will be able to broadcast the tournaments and special events out there.”

The Council also had the opportunity to meet newly-hired General Manager Craig Sager. Sager started on Wednesday.

Council also looked into changing the guidelines for the City’s Railroad Board.

“It was discussed that we would remove that it’s mandatory that we have someone, a representative from the industrial park on the board. And we’re also going to look at maybe changing the meetings from every other month to quarterly or semi-annually.”

The discussion was sparked because the Railroad Board has been having trouble reaching a quorum.
