Chillicothe Police Department Enjoying New Vehicles

Chillicothe Police are enjoying the benefits of their recently-acquired new vehicles. Chief Rick Knouse said the department has had the SUVs for a few weeks now.

“They are 2013 Interceptors which are actually Explorers,” said Knouse,” It’s the new police package vehicle since we’ve lost the Crown Victorias.  They’re not making those anymore.”

Knouse says they bring some advantages to their fleet.  “They provide better fuel economy, more room and utility,” said Knouse,” For a V-6, it has 50 more horsepower than the old V-8 did.  Having all-wheel drive when the winter weather will be a great advantage.”

The vehicles were purchased at approximately $24,000 each.
