Chillicothe Talks Road Work, Sidewalk Project

The Chillicothe Street Department is working to improve access to the new hospital.  City Administrator Ike Holland expects the entire construction project on Mohawk Road to take less than 60 days to complete.  Click to hear Holland:

Holland said the project will be done in two, 100 foot sections.  The first 100 feet will take about three and a half weeks to complete.  Crews expect to finish the final section around Thanksgiving.

In other news, Holland told council members at a meeting on Monday that a project designed to connect the north and south ends of town by sidewalks in underway.  Click to hear Holland:

Holland said the sidewalks along Highway 190 to the Fast Lanes Bowling alley are now in place.  The project, when completed, would essentially connect the High School on the north edge of town with restaurants on the south end.  Construction is expected to take several years.
