“Choc (as in chocolate) and Chalk Walk” is a fundraiser for two local causes. The Chillicothe United Methodist Church wants to use the funds to sponsor a bed at the SALT Center homeless shelter in Chillicothe for a whole year. They also hope to purchase beds for children in school system who currently do without. “So they either sleep on the floor at night, at home, or they sleep on the family couch, something like that,” said Stephens.

The event runs from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Chillicothe United Methodist Church. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children. “For that money, they get to sample three good servings of chocolate desserts of their choice. And then they get to also walk through our chalk walk,” said Stephens. At least 18 artists will be drawing murals all day. “They have to follow the theme of ‘joy.’ That’s this year’s theme. And they can draw whatever they want. Whatever that means to them.”
