JEFFERSON CITY, MO – A case is being brought again before a Missouri Commission for the purpose of obtaining permission to build an electric transmission line through Missouri.

The proposed line by Grain Belt Express Clean Line LLC, would connect to electric grids in several counties for the purpose of strengthening an intermittent source of electricity, namely wind.  The line, stretching from Buchanan County to Ralls County, is expected to connect a line in Kansas, with Illinois, and continue toward the east coast. Counties affected include Buchanan, Clinton, Caldwell, Carroll, Chariton, Randolph, Monroe, and Ralls in Missouri. The case is on remand from Missouri Supreme Court. According to the Missouri PSC, Clean Line is to address any material changes in evidence previously submitted into the record. Those evidentiary hearings will be held December 18 and 19 in Jefferson City.

Formal evidentiary hearings will be held December 18-19, 2018, in Room 310 of the Governor Office Building, 200 Madison Street, Jefferson City, Missouri. These hearings are scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. each day and will be streamed live on the Commission’s website (psc.mo.gov).
