CLINTON, MO – An arraignment trial will be held this morning for a man accused of killing a Clinton police officer.

Highway Patrol arrested Ian McCarthy, 39, August 8, 2017 without incident for the shooting death of police officer Gary Michael. McCarthy was subsequently treated for wounds he received in the alleged confrontation with Michael. Prosecutors claim that a second subject threw the murder weapon into a body of water north of Clinton. William Noble, 35, was charged with tampering with evidence in a felony prosecution.

The arraignment trial for McCarthy is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. in Henry County Circuit Court.
