Columbia woman ejected in fatal rollover crash Thursday

BOONE COUNTY, Mo. — A Columbia woman lost her life in a rollover crash in Boone County Thursday evening.

According to a crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on Route O, south of Brome Road at about 7:50 p.m. Thursday.

A vehicle driven by 22-year-old Amber D. Light was traveling south on O when it crested a hill, became airborne and went off the left side of the highway, causing the vehicle to roll over and eject Light, who was reportedly not wearing a seat belt.

Amber Light was taken to University Hospital where she was later pronounced dead. Three passengers, an infant, a teenager and 20-year-old Autumn Light were wearing seat belts and sustained minor injuries. They were treated at University Hospital.
