Commission Concerned with Probable Road Damage

The Saline County Commissioners recently met with Enbridge, Incorporated regarding damage their roads will likely receive during construction on the South Flanagan Pipeline.  Click to hear KMZU’s Kristie Cross speak with Northern Commissioner Norvelle Brown:

The commission is looking into an ordinance ensuring the company will cover any damage they cause, which Enbridge, Inc. has been amenable to so far.  “But we just feel more comfortable by either having an ordinance in place, or having bond in place, or possibly both of them, to make sure that we have adequate monies available to pay for the damage,” said Brown.

The commission is especially concerned with a 250,000 pound machine that will be transported in, as most of the roads are not even equipped t handle 80,000 pound vehicles.
