The first call for assistance came into dispatch from East Gay Street shortly after 6 a.m. “This is a towing company that has transported vehicles into that building and some of those are vehicles that we started towing last night,” said Hartwig-Hopkins, “We set emergency towing into effect around 6:00 p.m. so we could continue to get the roads cleared.  Some of those cars are in that facility.”

The second incident was reported at approximately 10:00 a.m. Tuesday morning from a retail location on Pride Street.  “This is the Arwood’s Furniture Store that can be seen from Highway 50,” said Hartwig-Hopkins.

No injuries were reported at either location.  According to Hartwig-Hopkins, reports from the scene at Arwood’s do indicate extensive damage to the facility.

Residents whose vehicle was towed last night to Ron’s Towing are being asked to contact the city’s non-emergency dispatch number at 660-747-2265.
