A runoff election in Cooper County resulted in an easy win yesterday.  Both men vying for the position of coroner received equal votes in August; however, Tuesday’s race ended with incumbent James Hurt receiving the majority of the vote with 1,267, while challenger Kevin Swartz ended the day with 924.  The county clerk’s office reports that 21.4 % of the registered voters in the county participated in the election.
