CARROLLTON, MO – Carrollton council members met briefly yesterday evening in a regular session.

With no official business to cover at a council meeting yesterday, Carrollton Council members heard reports, including from Police Chief Robert Turner. Members of the Crisis Intervention Team are to attend a state meeting in Jefferson City Tuesday. Turner hopes new additional officers soon to be certified on the team will further assist efforts to help individuals with mental health, and substance abuse problems.  Chief Turner said of some inmates that if they had proper treatment, they would cease to be a burden on the justice system.

Council members are also eagerly awaiting the results of Tuesday’s election, which carries a measure that would increase Carrollton’s general sales tax by three quarters of one percent for the purpose of a new water park facility.
