Crash Injures One, Shuts Down Highway

A collision between two tractor trailers in northeast Missouri injured a Marceline resident and shut down the westbound lanes of highway 36.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports Robert Dorrell, 48, drove his 2005 Freightliner into the rear of another tractor-trailer driven by 46-year-old Jerrod Porter of Hunnewell. Porter was uninjured.

Dorrell’s truck caught fire after coming to rest in the median. He was transported to Hannibal Regional Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.

The collision occurred a mile east of Hunnewell and shutdown both lanes of westbound 36 for a few hours according to MoDOT.
