Criminal Case Against Former Mendon Teacher Prepared for Trial

A former teacher and coach at Northwestern High School in Mendon is expected to go on trial this summer.  David Lawson, 35, of Glasgow, is charged with having sexual contact with a student.  During a motion hearing on Thursday, Chariton County Judge Terry Tschannen asked legal teams to file their available trial dates no later than Wednesday, Jan. 16.  Lawson is scheduled to return to court on Mar. 13.
