Crossing Upgrades Proposed in Pettis Co.

Public comment is currently being accepted for a possible project in Pettis County. The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission will consider installing flashing light signals and gates at two locations. One is on Florence Road, near Smithton. The second is at Carlin Mar Road in the western half of the County.

Opinions must be sent to MoDOT before October 4th.

The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission (MHTC) is now considering a proposal to install new flashing light signals and gates on Florence Road near Smithton in Eastern Pettis County and also at Carlin Mar Road in Western Pettis County. Public comments can be sent before October 4, 2013 to Mr. Jack Wright, RR Safety Specialist, Multimodal Operations, Missouri Department of Transportation, 105 W. Capital Ave., P.O. Box 270, Jefferson City, MO 65102-0270. Mr. Wright can be reached at 573-751-5969 to answer any questions.

In the interest of safety, Pettis County Road and Bridge Department is assisting MHTC with ditch work at the Florence Road site.
