Daylight Saving Time begins Sunday, March 9, 2014, 2:00 am, and ends Sunday, November 2, 2014, 2:00 am.
As we move our clocks ahead this weekend, fire officials are working hard to remind everyone that this is also a good time to check batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
The national fire protection association finds that no smoke alarms are present in more than one-third of home fire deaths.
Experts say you should install at least one smoke alarm on every floor of your home, including the basement and in, or near, each sleeping area.
If you are not sure on how to replace or check the batteries in any of these devices, contact your area fire professionals.
