Deer Hunters Increase Antlerless Harvest

According to the Missouri Department of Conservation, this year’s antlerless deer harvest increased by 5%.

From November 21st through December 2nd, over 15,100 deer were checked in by hunters. The leading counties with the highest total number were Camden with 553, followed by Benton and Callaway Counties.

Two portions of the deer hunting season remain, wrapping up with the late youth portion running December 29th and 30th.

More than 300-thousand pounds of venison will be donated to local food shelters through the Share the Harvest Program this season.
