Update (1:15 p.m.) – A spokesperson for Butterfield Youth Services said the 14-year-old has been found.

The Saline and Chariton County Sheriff’s Departments are searching for a 14-year-old runaway.  The teen disappeared from the Butterfield Youth Ranch late Tuesday night.  The young man’s name isn’t being released because he is a minor.  He is described as 5’5″, 110 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.  He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a gray shirt, and red jacket.

BYS employees told deputies the juvenile made a comment about jumping on a train earlier this week and had been talking about going to live with his father in Keytesville.  Authorities said the child has a history of stealing vehicles.  Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the 14-year-old juvenile should contact the Saline County Sheriff’s Department at (660) 886-5511 or the Chariton County Sheriff’s Department at (660) 288-3277.
