A release from the Carrollton Police Department indicates that officers responded to the intersection of Highway 10 and Main Street at the south end of Carrollton at approximately 5:00 p.m. Monday.

An investigation found that a vehicle operated by 40-year-old Kathy Fisher, of Carrollton, was traveling south on Main Street. As Fisher attempted to execute a turn onto Highway 10, a second vehicle driven by Worney Smith III, 44, of Kansas City, ran a stop sign and collided with the driver’s side of Fisher’s car.

Fisher suffered serious injuries in the crash. Two occupants in her vehicle, 35-year-old Jason Fisher and 55-year-old Brenda Fisher, both of Carrollton, were moderately injured. All three were taken to Carroll County Memorial Hospital before Kathy was life-flighted to an area medical center to receive care.

Smith was not injured, according to the press release, and has citations pending against him.
