Driver faces multiple charges after Boone County pursuit

BOONE COUNTY, Mo. – A high speed pursuit from Columbia to Jefferson City thursday morning, ended with a St. Louis man in custody.

Around 12:30 in the morning,  James M. Hunt, Jr., 31, ran a red light at Conley Road and Highway 63 South according to Boone County. Hunt accelerated when a deputy tried to pull him over on 63 Highway. During the pursuit, Hunt nearly struck an Ashland Police vehicle as he turned off 63 Highway, The chase eventually came back to 63 Highway and proceeded south into Jefferson City. Hunt was arrested when he turned onto a dead end on Jefferson Street.

It turns out that Hunt had an active felony warrant for parole violation.
