Driver sentenced for role in vehicle accident deaths

ST. JOSEPH, MO – The driver of a stolen vehicle has been sentenced for his part in a crash that killed four occupants.

According to court records, Skylar Lucas-Cox, 18, was the driver of a vehicle that collided with a pickup truck at Riverside and Cook Road in St. Joseph. The crash occurred in April 2017. Lucas-Cox was sentenced to 22 years in prison Friday.

An investigation determined he had been under the influence of cocaine, marijuana, and alcohol during the crash..
