Drug allegations added to traffic violations in Miller County

MILLER COUNTY, Mo. – A stop for speeding landed a Columbia man in the Miller County Jail on drug allegations yesterday.

The Missouri Highway Patrol says a trooper stopped David A. Ferguson, 33, just after 2:00 p.m., Saturday afternoon. Along with speeding, Ferguson was alleged to have been driving without insurance and not using a seat belt. A search resulted in two felony allegations for possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of less than 10 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Ferguson remains on a 24 hour hold, pending the filing of formal charges.
