Escaped Inmate Appears in Court

The man who allegedly escaped from the Ray County jail in August appeared in court Wednesday morning. Daniel McCarty, 24, faces charges of escaping from confinement and damage to jail property. McCarty was originally in custody on counts of tampering with a motor vehicle and stolen property. He entered a plea of not guilty to the latest charges and requested a continuance. McCarty will be back in the courtroom on November 7th.
