Evidence indicates Chillicothe officers’ use of force justified

CHILLICOTHE, MO – The investigation proceeds into a standoff August 18th in Chillicothe.

The evidence gathered and reviewed indicates use of force by Chillicothe officers was justified. Minor injuries were reportedly inflicted on the unidentified fugitive who was treated for non life threatening injuries after shots were fired. Officers responded to the 1100 block of Broadway Street to execute a warrant out of Johnson County Kansas, initiating a four-hour standoff. A Facebook post by Livingston County prosecuting attorney, Adam Warren, says evidence indicates there is no doubt that use of force by officers was justified. No charges will be filed. Meanwhile, the investigation continues as regards the subject of the warrant.
