Ex-Cop Returns to Court Wednesday
A former Carrollton police officer is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday morning on charges related to a shooting in September. According to the probable cause statement, Lynn Ward was attempting to apprehend a suspect involved in an earlier dispute when the individual ran from the scene. Ward allegedly chased after the suspect, drew his weapon, and shot at the individual. The 50-year-old Lexington resident was relieved of his duties at the Carrollton Police Department shortly after the incident. Ward now faces a felony assault charge. His bond has been set at $75,000. He is due back in court at 9:00 a.m.
