A doctor, who previously practiced medicine in Brookfield, is facing several felony charges in St. Clair Co. and is scheduled to be arraigned Monday morning. Online court records indicate Dr. John D. Ure Sr., 62, an osteopathic physician, is accused of writing prescriptions without having a valid state permit. Investigators said Ure allowed his Missouri Controlled Substances Registration to lapse in June 2010 but continued to authorize prescriptions for two years. The charges were filed June through August of 2012. Ure is scheduled to go before Judge James Journey at 10 a.m.
