The City of Excelsior Springs is hosting their Holiday Celebration all day Saturday. Click to hear KMZU’s Sarah Scott speak with Committee Member Carrie Carr:
The Elf Factory will start at 12:00 p.m and run through 6:00 in the evening. “What that is, is the kids can come in and they can make several different types of crafts for their moms, dads, grandparents, whoever they want to give a gift to,” said Carr. “And that starts out anywhere from $.50 to $2.00. And this year we have over 1,900 crafts that they could do. And we’ve got Santa Clause down there. We’ve got Sponge Bob and Patrick. And so the kids really do enjoy that.”
Pictures with Santa will be available from 3:00 to 5:30. The Elementary School Singers take the stage at 5:00. After that, the Lighted Christmas Parade gets underway at 6:00.
“We’ve got over, I believe, it’s 25 entries. And everything is lighted in the parade. We also have the Lane of Lights. And that is in Lover’s Lane. And also, at the Hall of Waters, we have the Hall of Trees. So you can go in there, and we’ve got about 20 trees that are beautifully decorated.”
