Fire at Trenton Storage Facility

A fire broke out at Hoffman and Reed Grain Elevator in Trenton Tuesday afternoon. Click to hear KMZU’s Mike Stone speak with Trenton Fire Department Lieutenant Mike Moore.

The call went out just before 5:30 pm and emergency responders were soon on scene.

An eyewitness, told KMZU News what he saw.

“We were in a restaurant eating, and saw the fire trucks go by, headed to the south part of town. (We) drove down a couple of blocks to the area of Hoffman and Reeds Storage facility, the large barn building with smoke coming out of it. Firefighters (were) around, police, a lot of spectators.”

Reliable sources indicate the incident was brought under control in about an hour.  The extent of the damage is not known at this hour.
