Chillicothe police uncovered a marijuana growing operation following a mobile home fire on Thursday night.  Emergency crews were called to the residence in the 100 block of East 2nd Street after the owner said he arrived home to find the siding of his home had melted and his kitchen was full of smoke, according to a report from the Chillicothe Fire Department.  Firefighters found the oven on and papers burning on top of the stove when they entered the home.

Fire officials said the blaze seemed suspicious and police were called to the scene.  Officers said it appeared Mark Sprague was growing marijuana inside his home.  He was arrested for producing a controlled substance with the intent to distribute.

Formal charges had not been filed at the time of this report.
