Fire Errupts at Dodge City Cargill Beef Plant

There are no injuries reported in Monday nights fire at the Cargill plant in Dodge City, Kansas. Reports show that the fire forced the evacuation of 1,000 employees. Most of the reported damage was done to the roof and is expected to be repaired over the Christmas break and expects to be back to normal operation next week. Officials are currently looking into what caused the fire outbreak.

Cargill plans to move their production to other beef plants as they wait for their plant to be repaired. The kill capacity of the Dodge City Plant is clost to 5,000 head per day. The facility was already scheduled to be closed for the Christmas holiday, but now may go well in to the end of next week.
