CHILLICOTHE, Mo.  — Chloe Rose Hartley was born at 5:46 a.m., on Feb. 14, at the new Hedrick Medical Center. Chloe is the daughter of Warren and Joann Hartley of Brookfield. Chloe is the first baby to be delivered in the new Hedrick Medical Center, which opened one day prior, on Feb. 13.

The mother was transferred as a regional patient to Hedrick Medical Center from another area hospital and D.J. Clow, D.O., delivered the baby. Because the baby was born a little bit early, Hedrick hospitalist James Peppers, M.D., who specializes in internal medicine/pediatrics, directed the baby’s care thereafter. Dr. Peppers was able to tap into support provided by the neonatologists at Saint Luke’s Hospital, ensuring the highest quality of care. Both mother and baby are doing well.

Hedrick Medical Center presented the family with a gift basket to commemorate this milestone event for the new hospital. The basket included donations from area businesses, including an engraved silver photo frame from Lauhoff Jewelers, a baby ring and a mother’s ring from Sensenich Jewelers, a year’s supply of diapers from Chillicothe Hy-Vee, a family portrait sitting and 8×10 portrait from Murphy’s Photography Studio, a Halo sleep sack from Hedrick Medical Center, and a gift certificate from Clifton’s Children’s Clothing.
