Former County Employee Facing Two Felony Charges

A former employee of the Saline County Assessor’s Office has been charged with 2nd burglary and theft of a controlled substance.  Wendy Guthrie, 28, allegedly entered the home of a Gilliam woman and stole a large amount of prescription medication.  According to the probable cause statement, Guthrie reportedly told a neighbor she entered the home as part of her job with the assessor’s office, but later admitted to authorities that she took Vicodin from the residence.  Guthrie will appear for a counsel status hearing on the two felony charges on January 9th.
