The former leader of Progressive Alternative Living in Higginsville will be in court Monday on one count of felony theft.

According to a probable cause statement, the charges were brought against Terri Marr after members of the PAL organization discovered the rent had not been paid.  This caused the board to look into the finances of the organization, during which time they uncovered several inconsistent spending patterns. When questioned by law enforcement Marr allegedly confessed to stealing around $100,000 over the past three years. She claimed the stolen funds were used to pay credit card bills, school loans, and for one of the family vehicles.

On May 31st Marr was jailed on a 50,000 surety bond, which was posted the same day. She is scheduled to go before a Lafayette County judge for arraignment at 9 a.m.
