A Higginsville woman charged with theft was sentenced Friday to 12 years in the Department of Corrections.  Karen Green, 53, was arrested for allegedly embezzling more than $140,000 from the Lafayette County School District.  Green was fired in January after school officials discovered the funds were missing.  She pleaded guilty to one count of theft on Aug. 17.  Green was ordered to spend 120 days in the DOC and could be released on probation.
