Two rival high schools have teamed up for a good cause. Click to hear KMZU’s Kristie Cross speak with Public Relations Director Stephanie Smith:
The Student Councils at both schools are collecting new socks. The high school that collects the most will be announced at the December 11th basketball game. Smith said the schools are working with area organizations to ensure the donations stay local.
Press Release from the Fort Osage School District
A dry pair of socks is something that most people take for granted and that is why the Fort Osage Student Council is teaming up with the Belton Student Council and holding a sock drive called “Sock It To Belton” that will lead up to the December 11 Boys Varsity Basketball game.
Our goal is to provide people with clean and dry socks. They drive will be held December 1 to December 11. Each school total donations will be announced and the top donating school will win the “Sock It Trophy” at the game during halftime.
One student from each school who wins a raffle contest will be permitted to come down to the court and have a free throw to try and win tickets to a Mavericks game.
Help fort Osage Sock It To Belton!
Donations can be turned into room 43 at Fort Osage High School.
