Guthrie said the funds will be used for a good cause. “They are patriotic baseball caps with the Honor Flight Network logo on the front. We’re selling those to raise funds to take veterans to Washington, D.C. to see their memorials at no cost to them. Like I said, they are patriotic, very nice looking ball caps.”

Guthrie added he is hoping to raise enough money to expand the program this year. “We take approximately 40 veterans and we take 2 flights a year. We’re hoping this year we’ll be able to make 3 flights.”

The cost per veteran is around $350.00 for the round trip ticket. The baseball hats can be purchased for $20.00. To place an order call the Saline County courthouse at 660-886-7777.
