The annual Girl Scout cookie drive is underway. Click to hear KMZU’s Kristie Cross talk to product sales manager Norma Hussey:
According to the representative, funds raised will help young girls across the nation. “Profits from the sale is used to pay the expenses for programs, maintain camps, and provide administrative funds for the girl scout community,” said Hussey,”In addition, each troop receives 55 cents per box sold and participants are given badges, as well as credit to attend resident camp.”
The organization has introduced a new variety, while continuing to offer traditional favorites. “Mango cream is the new cookie this year and I would say it has been a medium seller,” said Hussey,” The top cookie continues to be the thin mint. ”
Anyone interested in making a purchase is encouraged to contact Hussey who will put you in contact with a local girl scout. She can be reached at (660)646-7777.
