“On June 22nd thousands of people are going to be gathering together in their back yards, in their neighborhoods, and especially in their state parks,” Deidrick said. “It is a Missouri State Parks event we are really trying to promote, and in addition to that it is also an event sponsored by the National Wildlife Federation.”
The events are being held at state parks all over Missouri. There will be events at those parks to appeal to visitors old and young.
“The Great American Backyard Campout is a national event that gives families across the nation the opportunity to go out under the stars and enjoy nature,” Deidrick stated. “In Missouri we have events happening at parks throughout the system encouraging people to get outdoors such as night hikes, camp outs, chances to enjoy s’mores, and other events like those.”.
