Harvest 2017 slowly finishes up according to USDA

MISSOURI — Farmers around the state are finishing up harvest for the year, according to the National Agricultural Statistics Service.

The Missouri Crop Progress and Condition Report, published weekly by the USDA, reported 92 percent of corn has been harvested. Last week, 87 percent was harvested and last year 99 percent was.

As for soybeans, 86 percent has been harvested so far. This is an increase from 77 percent last week but a decrease from 91 percent this time last year.

5.4 days this last week were suitable for fieldwork with 0.26 inches of precipitation statewide.
