Saturday evening just after 8 a hay ride on Route H and Pink Hill ended with five Oak Grove residents injured.
According to authorities; an International tractor was pulling a hay wagon loaded with passengers northbound on H when a vehicle driven by 27-year-old Kaylon Childers overtook the tractor and wagon, striking the rear.
Childers received minor injuries; he was taken to Centerpoint Hospital for treatment. Four hay-ride passengers were also injured, 5-year-old Aubrey Hall suffered minor injuries and was airlifted to Children’s Mercy Hospital by Life Flight. 30-year-old Dustin Hall of Oak Grove was moderately injured and life flighted to Liberty Hospital. 31-year-old Jennifer Hall and 32-year-old Shane Hall both sustained minor injuries and were transported to area medical centers for treatment. Over ten emergency vehicles reported to the scene, shutting down Route H long enough to clear the area and investigate the crash. That investigation is on-going with possible charges pending.
