WASHINGTON DC – While the Trump administration has made various attempts to repeal parts of the Affordable Care Act, the repeal of the individual mandate is one of the most significant.

Part of the tax plan that passed both houses of Congress this week was the repeal of the mandate. It’s the part of the legislation, known as Obamacare, that requires citizens to purchase health insurance. The Affordable Care Act was passed initially as a tax, and its elimination is part of the tax cut that is now on its way to be signed by the president.

Other portions of ACA legislation, remain in effect.
