Highway congestion on I-70 was a contributing factor in a crash in Jackson County Tuesday morning. The Highway Patrol responded to a collision on I-70 westbound at Adams Dairy Parkway where Alfred Wyrick, 76, of Oak Grove had rear-ended Daniel Burd, 36, of Grain Valley. Burd was slowing down for heavy traffic when the wreck occurred. Wyrick was taken to the Veteran’s Hospital in Kansas City with moderate injuries. He was reportedly not wearing his seat belt.
