The mid-month agenda for the Higginsville Board of Alderman Monday night will include a pledge to the city for it’s promise to promote employment opportunities for veterans. Higginsville City Clerk Jeanette Dobson says the pledge will be presented by a Veteran’s Representative “We will be having Wayne Woodworth…with the Department of Economic Development as a visitor”. Says Dobson “He will be here to present a pledge of support certificate to the city for our pledge to consider military veteran’s when hiring for jobs with the city of Higginsville.”

That begins an agenda which includes a bill allowing an agreement with Burns and McDonnelle Engineering to conduct an electric cost of service rate design and power supply options study for the Higginsville electric system.

The agenda will also include annual renewals of licenses and the issuance of fireworks sales permits.

The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. in council chambers.
