LAFAYETTE COUNTY, Mo., — A warrant was issued Friday, after a child sex investigation in Higginsville.

Josiah Stephen Beck, 19, was charged with one count of Statutory Sodomy in the first degree over a report filed on January 11th of this year. A probable cause statement indicate the suspect had inappropriate sexual contact with a 13 year old victim in the fall of 2016. It was reported that the incident took place in Beck’s vehicle at Confederate Park in Higginsville. Beck then took the victim home and she disclosed to another juvenile friend what had happened.

During an interview, Beck originally stated he did not know who the victim was. He later said he did know the victim, but he does not talk to her.

An arraignment was held on Friday, and Beck pleaded not guilty to the charge. A hearing has been scheduled for January 25th at 10:00 a.m. in Lafayette County. Bond has been set at $50,000 cash or surety.
